VINCI Highways launches new phase of self-consumption solar production program in Peru

Lima Expresa, subsidiary of VINCI Highways and concessionaire of the Vía de Evitamiento and the Via Expresa Línea Amarilla expressways, has launched a new phase its self-consumption solar production program. During this new phase, which will take place throughout 2024, Lima Expresa will equip six more operational base with solar panels, producing about 141 MWh.

Lima Expresa’s solar units aim to cover around 50% of the energy needs of its operational bases, which include building lighting and ventilation, computer system, security cameras and toll booth signage.

Lima Expresa’s solar program, which started in 2022, has allowed to equip two first operational bases on the Vía de Evitamiento. After the completion of this new phase, Lima Expresa will reach a total production of 141 MWh, equivalent to a total saving of 25 tons of CO2eq/year.

The initiative is part of VINCI Highways' action plan to achieve net zero emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2050 across its network.
