Following the second call for expressions of interest (AMI) launched in May 203, the SEA Fund for the transition of territories, endowed by LISEA, the concessionaire of the South Europe Atlantic high-speed line (SEA HSL), and MESEA, the line’s operator-maintainer, both subsidiaries of VINCI Railways, has selected 26 projects. All of them aim to accelerate the agro-ecological transition of the areas crossed by the HSL.

In France, the SEA Fund for the transition of territories has a budget of 3 million euros for the period 2021-2026. With the main objective of supporting the territories concerned by the SEA high-speed line in their ecological and solidarity-based transition, the SEA Fund intends to support projects working to preserve biodiversity, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote social and professional integration.

Three key areas of intervention have been defined to address the requirements of local stakeholders:

  •     Environmental performance of farms;
  •     Local development and solidarity in the market garden and legume sectors for human consumption;
  •     Research and experimentation to relocate the plant protein sector.

Of the 36 projects received, 26 have been selected by the Fonds SEA Board of Directors, led by farmers, local authorities, producer groups, research establishments, associations, cooperatives and chambers of agriculture. These structures will benefit from guidance and financial support totalling 800,000 euros. This second edition complements a first call for projects dedicated to local and sustainable agriculture, launched in 2021, amounting to 500,000 euros, bringing the SEA fund's initiative in favor of agro-ecological transition to 1.3 million euros.
