Operator of the Rion-Antirion Bridge, a 2.8‑km bridge over the Gulf of Corinth, linking the Peloponnese peninsula to mainland Greece, Gefyra was awarded with a SILVER AWARD in the category "Sustainable Infrastructure Development" in the context of the annual "ENVIRONMENTAL AWARDS" to promote the best environmental practices used by public and private sector entities.
Following VINCI Highways' global ambition to decarbonize mobility and to reduce our carbon footprint, GEFYRA was distinguished for its initiatives implemented at the Rion-Antirion Bridge such as the upgrade of the road lighting with LED bulbs, the supply of electric power 100% from renewable sources, the opening up to electro-mobility and the deepening of the environmental culture of its staff.
