Just two years after joining the VINCI Highways network, Entrevias has just received a major recognition that highlights the scale of the duplication project currently being carried out at the heart of Brazilian agricultural logistics. It also confirms the effective adaptation of VINCI Concessions' model to the Brazilian context.

Two years after joining the VINCI Highways network, Entrevias has just received a landmark distinction. The road authority of the State of São Paulo (ARTESP) has named Entrevias the best highway concession of 2024, ranking it first among the 22 concessions regulated by the agency in Brazil’s most populous state.

By acknowledging progress in safety, innovation, and environmental performance, this award also sheds light on the exceptional scale of the ongoing duplication and modernization programme led by Entrevias.

One of the largest ongoing highway construction programmes in Brazil

In its southern section, Entrevias crosses a vast rural area in the interior of São Paulo State, near the Paraná border. It plays a key role in transporting agricultural production toward major logistics corridors. It is along this strategic route that Entrevias is now carrying out one of the largest ongoing highway construction programmes in Brazil: the duplication of over 100 kilometers of highway.

A total of 112 kilometers are being duplicated, divided into seven segments. The works are being carried out by local companies and involve more than 2,000 workers on site daily. A centerpiece of the programme, the construction of a 2.4-kilometer bridge over the Tietê River will be one of the largest structures of its kind in the state of São Paulo. Completion of the entire project is scheduled for the end of 2026. The works will ease traffic flow, enhance road safety, and support local economic growth.

This programme is taking place in a positive context of traffic growth (+4% in 2024) and rising environmental performance in line with VINCI’s Group-wide ambitions. Recent examples include a new water treatment system across several operational bases, recognized with a VINCI regional environment award, and the acceleration of emissions reduction efforts, notably with the introduction of the first electric recovery vehicles on the network.

Following the acquisition of Entrevias with its partner Pátria Investimentos, VINCI Highways was also awarded the Via Cristais federal concession in 2024, covering around 600 kilometers along the Rio–Belo Horizonte–Brasília corridor. The first synergies between the two highways are already underway, particularly in project management and environmental performance. These developments confirm how well VINCI’s concession model fits Brazil, a country where infrastructure needs remain substantial.
