"Water From the Air": VINCI Highways' new pilot project in Greece
In Greece, Olympia Odos – concessionaire of the Athens-Corinth-Patras motorway – is launching “Water From the Air”, a pilot project that is both ecological and innovative.
The aim is to allow motorists to refresh themselves with drinking water produced from steam. The system, which is equipped with a tank and a compressor that transforms water vapour in the air into drinking water using solar energy, can produce 10 to 12 litres of fresh water per day. A first unit has just been installed at the Panorama-Kineta area near Corinth. The project will be extended to all other areas along the motorway if the response from motorists is positive.
This sustainable project – which emits no greenhouse gas emissions and encourages the use of reusable containers – is part of VINCI Highways’ strategy of constantly improving its customer experience.
