The Moscow-St Petersburg motorway welcomes its first electric recharging stations
In Russia, VINCI Highways (VINCI Concessions) has launched a programme to install self-service rapid charging stations for electric cars using the Moscow-St Petersburg motorway – which thus becomes the first motorway in Russia equipped for electric vehicles.
At the end of December 2020, 12 charging stations had been installed, including two on section 0 (operated by NWCC), two on sections 7 and 8 (operated by TCH) and eight on the central sections of the motorway (operated by UTS). The power of each charging station is 120 kW; one station can charge four vehicles simultaneously. The charging stations are free of charge for motorists. With this initiative, VINCI Highways is developing services on one of the country’s busiest motorways and supporting the emergence of more environmentally friendly mobility in Russia.
This action is in line with VINCI Concessions’ environmental ambition to reduce its gross CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030. On target? Zero net carbon emissions throughout the network by 2050 at the latest.
