In just one year, more than 8 million drivers drove through the VINCI Highways operated section between St. Petersburg and Veliky Novgorod, a particularly popular parcel of the M11, as it relieves drivers from traditional traffic jams on the M10.

In September, with the end of the holiday season 16 km of this segment accounted 19% of the whole traffic of toll highway, compared with 11% in August. On average, about 700,000 cars every month pass along the Neva highway in the section from St. Petersburg to Myasny Bor. During the holidays, there is an increase in traffic – the M11 has already become a full-fledged alternative for trains and airplanes, making it easier for tourists to access the northern capital. The new 669 km M11 motorway provides a safe and reliable highway link between Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

M11 from 684 to 546 km was built by Two Capitals Highway LLC, a subsidiary of VINCI Highways and VTB Infrastructural Holding. Built according to the most demanding international highway standards, for which we are committed at VINCI Concessions, the M11 is Russia’s most advanced highway. This means that unprecedented attention has been paid to environmental protection, road safety and the comfort of motorists. The road is lit at night, and has rest areas equipped with kiosks and toilets every 20 kilometers. It cuts the journey time from nine hours via the alternative M10 highway to about five and a half hours. In addition, it better integrates the Russian motorways into the international transport system, particularly in Northern Europe.
