Since September, passengers at Kobe airport in Japan can chat with 10 travel assistant robots that answer their questions, help finding the right way within the terminal but also advice on best food places according to their wishes.

The three airports in the Kansai region, which will serve as gateways to the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo, are seeking ways to provide a variety of services for all guests from in and out of Japan. This time, with the launch of this new demonstration experiment, VINCI Airports and its subsidiary Kansai Airports strive to improve passenger experience by guiding and serving customers with remote-controlled communication robots installed inside the terminal.

During the same period, a demonstration of welcoming robots will also be conducted. Approximately 10 robots will greet arriving passengers on the first floor of the terminal. Created in cooperation with CyberAgent’s R&D unit AI LAB and Osaka University’s Graduate School of Engineering Science, those robots take the airport experience to a new level!
