Inauguration of the Schlœsing ramp in Marseille
The 'Société Marseillaise du Tunnel Prado Carénage', of which VINCI Concessions is a shareholder, today inaugurated the “Schloesing ramp”, a new 845 m long access ramp connecting Boulevard Schlœsing to the A50 motorway and the Prado Fairing tunnel in the city of Marseille, South of France.
First stage of a vast development program for the large eastern sector of Marseille, this new axis aims to facilitate and streamline urban travel, maintain a quality and secure service, and improve the living environment of local residents.
This new infrastructure, 845 m long, connecting Boulevard Schlœsing to the A50 motorway and the Prado Carénage tunnel, is a covered trench composed of a section 2 times 1 lane in two directions gradually passing to 2 one-way sections which will overlap to find the configuration of the Prado South Tunnel in duplex and insert into this work.
The commissioning of the Schlœsing ramp is a new step forward in improving the living environment and mobility of Marseille residents, mobility in all modes since the project will develop soft surface mobility with the extension of the T3 tram line (urban Tramway), better connect the city, and promote social and territorial cohesion.
As part of its concession contract, the Société Marseillaise du Tunnel Prado Carénage is responsible for the financing, design, construction, operation and maintenance of the Schlœsing ramp, an extension of the Prado Carénage tunnel.
To finance this investment of nearly 100 million euros, the concession contract signed with the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropole was extended by 7 years and 4 months until 2033.
