In Peru, Lima Expresa is monitoring the results of its road safety awareness campaigns and forging new partnerships
In Peru, a study on accidentology shows that thanks to its commitment to road safety, Lima Expresa, the Peruvian subsidiary of VINCI Highways (VINCI Concessions), has achieved a 60% reduction in claims on its roads over the last three years.
This is an encouraging trend thanks to the installation of signs, surveillance systems – notably 120 cameras along both lanes – and emergency services. The VINCI Highways subsidiary has also carried out large-scale road safety awareness operations, such as “Que tu primera meta sea llegar sano a casa” (May your first objective be to get home). Results that will be further enhanced in the future, with the launch of Muévete Perú by the association Movemos of VINCI Highways. Developed in partnership with the Superintendence of Land Transport of People, Goods and Freight of Peru, this programme contributes to increasing safety on the country’s urban roads, promoting citizen participation and strengthening pedagogy around road safety.
