Greece: VINCI Highways to improve passenger experience with the Olympia PASS transponder

VINCI Highways’ subsidiary Olympia Odos has upgrated its interoperability service on the Greek highways and motorways thanks to which it will be possible to travel all over the country with a single device, the OLYMPIA PASS transponder.

As of today, it will be possible to travel on all motorways in Greece thanks to a single service and device called “Greek Interoperable Tolling Systems (GRITS) making your trips faster, safer and more comfortable. This interoperability will be activated automatically and free of charge. The GRITS service is indeed offered at no cost through OLYMPIA PASS at the electronic toll lanes of all Greek motorways namely Attiki Odos, Moreas, Aegean Motorway, Nea Odos, Kentriki Odos, Egnatia Odos and “Charilaos Trikoupis” Rion-Antirion Bridge covering 2,133 kilometers in total. The Olympia Odos Operation undertook a decisive coordination role to achieve interoperability, but it also offers an emergency system to alert authorities and a live update notification system on the status of the roads and bridges.
