In the context of the health emergency caused by the covid-19 epidemic, VINCI Concessions’ teams remain fully mobilized to support people on front line as well as its customers and other stakeholders. In Latin America, Santiago airport’s teams in Chile as well as teams of the concession company Via 40 Express, operating the Bogota-Girardot road in Colombia, have been mobilized for several weeks.

In Chile, teams of Santiago airport (VINCI Airports) have been distributing food baskets to underprivileged families for several weeks. The distributions of these precious commodities are taking place in several districts of the city of Pudahuel, in El Noviciado, Peralito and Villa Couso. These municipalities, sectors that have been hit hard by the confinement and shortage of labour due to the pandemic, are located in areas where VINCI Airports operates and for which many other sociable and sustainable initiatives are regularly set up as close as possible to the inhabitants. Nearly 2,000 baskets have been offered to residents since May 2020.

In Colombia, the Via 40 Express (VINCI Highways) teams work hand in hand with the Red Cross of Bogotá and Cundinamarca. Thus, between May and July, they ensured the delivery of nearly 1,000 essential kits to young migrant workers who move along the track. The kits include food items, medicine, reflective bracelets, an information guide on their route, and other essential resources. Further distributions are expected to be made during August.

VINCI Concessions teams continue to be fully mobilized to ensure the smooth operation of infrastructure and the safe transport of basic products, medicines and other essential resources for the local population.
