COVID-19: VINCI Concessions network mobilize
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, VINCI Concessions network has been in constant contact with the local public and health authorities and is applying their recommendations to deal with this unprecedented situation. The health of our employees, customers and all our partners on our platforms is our priority.
In compliance with the sanitary measures recommended by the competent authorities, VINCI Concessions remains fully committed to fulfilling its public service missions, in particular to enable the transport of medical personnel, medical evacuations, repatriation flights, etc.
To inform passengers in the epidemic context, VINCI Concessions network’s members have set up multi-channel communications, in close coordination with local authorities.
In Chile for instance, to explain the measures taken and encourage passengers to respect safety distances, Santiago airport in Chile has distributed videos and tutorials, installed stickers on the ground every two metres, and also reminded passengers that the counters have a copper coating (a material that inhibits bacteria and viruses). In addition, a frequently asked questions section on social networks, call centres and chat rooms provided advice to travellers.
Similar initiatives have been launched at Salvador Bahia airport (Brazil), at London-Gatwick, in Serbia, France or Portugal, where social network campaigns allow passengers to find out in real time flights conditions.
Regarding road concessions, VINCI Concessions and VINCI Highways networks are also fully mobilised to inform customers.
In Greece, teams from Olympia Odos and Gefyra are reminding them that toll electronic and contactless transactions are available and should be preferred. On the Rion Antirion Bridge, the passage of medical personnel has been facilitated to enable them to get to hospital.
In Russia and Slovakia, road users are informed through digital road signs encouraging, for example, to keep a safe distance between individuals.
Social networks are also widely acclaimed, such as Via 40 Express in Colombia, which uses them to explain why the lanes are still opened, or Lima Expresa in Chile to specify that toll collection is suspended for medical assistance vehicles.
