As part of the modernization and extension work on Colombia’s busiest road, VINCI Highways and the ANI (National Infrastructure Agency) are commissioning a new section of the highway, section 8, between the cities of Soacha and Sibaté.

As part of the modernization and extension work on Colombia’s busiest motorway, VINCI Highways and the ANI (National Infrastructure Agency) have opened a new section of the motorway, section 8, between the cities of Soacha and Sibate to traffic.

Located at one of the country’s most important road exits, Section 8 serves more than one million motorists. The completion of the upgrading works on this new section will open approximately 11 kilometers of rehabilitated roads in both directions, a new road bridge at the entrance to the city of Sibaté and two kilometers of third lane between Sibaté and the El Muña viaduct. Two pedestrian footbridges and 1.5 kilometers of cycle path have also been built, promoting soft mobility in complete safety.

This work has been a real challenge, particularly in terms of mobility, as the flow of vehicles through the area is high. They were conducted with the highest levels of safety, in compliance with VINCI’s “zero accidents” objective.

“This project improves the mobility and safety of users who travel daily in this sector. They were made possible thanks to the work of more than 1,500 people, 370 of whom belonged to the surrounding municipalities,”

Louis Kleyn, President of the ANI
