A hackambiental to prevent climate change in Peru
Aiming for environmental exemplarity, VINCI Concessions works every day to reduce the impact of its operations and support its partners in decarbonising mobility. This ambition is applied everywhere we operate, as here in Peru where LIMA EXPRESA, concessionaire of the Vía de Evitamiento and the Línea Amarilla expressway, recently organised a hackathon. The aim of this "HACKAMBIENTAL 2022" was to generate new projects to find solutions to waste management, CO2 reduction and water consumption.
Nearly 40 employees participated in the hackathon and had the opportunity to interact with other VINCI Group entities. In the final step, seven initiatives were presented, five of them from LIMA EXPRESA, focused on recovering water through humidity in the environment, reducing water consumption, revaluing public spaces and improving the air quality of public spaces and developing different green spaces in the city through art. The three winners remained will move on to a training and implementation stage.
The HACKAMBIENTAL was supported by the Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (UTEC), an institution that encourages the development of innovative skills among employees and the search for solutions that can have a positive impact on environmental problems.
