At the end of 2020, Lima Expresa announced the implementation of a new method of payment by contactless card. Motorists will now be able to pay tolls using their credit or debit cards with this technology.

Lima Expresa (the Peruvian subsidiary of VINCI Highways) continues to develop contactless payment on its highway network, in partnership with Izipay, to provide a more convenient, safe and fluid experience for drivers. It will now be possible to choose between traditional credit card payment and contactless payment at no additional cost. All the more essential in times of pandemic, this alternative of dematerialized payment will greatly reduce physical contact, helping to slow down the spread of Covid-19.

“This new technology is part of our mission to provide a more secure experience for our customers, especially in a situation like the one we are experiencing with Covid-19. In addition, it is a perfect and safe alternative for customers who are not used to carrying cash and who have problems paying for the use of the lanes,” said Pablo Pascuttini, Director of Operations at LIMA EXPRESA. He added: “It is important to mention that there is no additional charge for using this method of payment. We will continue to innovate in order to offer our customers a better experience and greater safety on our roads. »

By acquiring Lima Expresa in 2016, VINCI Highways became the concessionaire for the two expressways in the Peruvian capital and made major changes by carrying out works in a densely populated urban environment subject to numerous geological constraints. As a result, two sections of 16 and 9 km now allow 10 million Lima residents to travel faster, more comfortably and in the highest safety standards.
