  • 570 MWh / year of renewable electricity produced and injected into the network
  • First solar plant allocated on a railway infrastructure site operated by VINCI Concessions
  • Strong ambition for solar with +2 GWp of targeted capacity

VINCI Concessions announces the commissioning by SunMind, its subsidiary specializing in the development of solar projects, of a photovoltaic power plant in Clérac, Nouvelle-Aquitaine-France on one of the sites of MESEA, the maintenance company for the South Europe Atlantic high-speed rail line (SEA-HSL) and a subsidiary of VINCI Railways.

With an installed capacity of nearly 500 kWp, this plant will produce approximately 570 MWh of renewable electricity per year, equivalent to the consumption of more than 200 French households. The electricity produced will directly be injected into the local grid, thus increasing the share of renewable energy in the region's energy mix. This plant consists of solar panels installed on various structures: three parking shades, one shade built over a storage area, and one awning.

The construction of two additional solar power plants with a total capacity of 3.5 MWp, on the other MESEA maintenance sites, in Nouâtre and Villognon, will begin this year with commissioning scheduled for the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026 respectively.

These projects are part of VINCI Concessions' commitment to the development of solar energy, with a double objective: to decarbonize its mobility infrastructure operated in more than twenty countries worldwide and to support regions in their energy transition. More than 2 GWp of capacity has thus been identified across its entire infrastructure network.

SunMind supports the solarization of infrastructure operated by VINCI Concessions as well as companies and local authorities based in France and internationally in their projects to decarbonize and enhance their building and land potential. By the end of 2024, Sunmind, and its subsidiary Helios, had installed 18.5 MWp, produced 5.3 GWh over the year and had a portfolio of projects under development of more than 1.4 GWp.

VINCI Concessions is a global leader in mobility infrastructure that uses its integrated model to design, finance, build, operate and maintain more than 100 airports, highways, railway and stadium projects in 23 countries through the VINCI Airports, VINCI Autoroutes, VINCI Highways, VINCI Railways and VINCI Stadium subsidiaries.
